About Celebrex

About one in three Americans suffers from arthritis and arthritis related conditions. Celebrex was introduced between December of 1998 and 1999 as a treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Celebrex proved to successfully relieve the symptoms. Celebrex was also prescribed in order to alleviate the acute pain in adults after a dental or surgical operation and it was even used to treat painful menstrual cycles.

Shortly after the FDA had approved Celebrex articles and reports occurred that linked the drug to the death of a number of people. After some time of confusion and uncertainty as to whether Celebrex was indeed responsible, the drug was finally suspended from direct consumer advertising in December of 2004.

The risks of Celebrex

The longer the drug is taken, the more serious the problems can become. One of the most common problems that arise with Celebrex is bleeding stomach ulcers. The symptoms include a burning stomach pain, black bowel movements or vomit that resembles blood or even coffee grounds.
